Camp At A Glance

Now in its eighth year, the children's Heritage Camp takes place in an authentic historic setting. Intended for youngsters entering grade 1 to 8 in the fall, the camp is designed for children who like to have summer and like to learn.

Mount Gulian's history, from the time of Native Americans, through the colonial period, into the Revolutionary War and through the 19th century, is used as the backdrop for activities. The camp fosters the enjoyment and exploration of local history through the arts and hands-on environmental experiences. Specialists share their knowledge in areas of archaeology, ecology, music, storytelling and more.

Activities include participation in our popular 18th century military drills, learning to cook on an open hearth, under close supervision, making musical instruments and pond exploration.
